What is Art? Art is in the "eye of the beholder'. Art is in the expression of emotions. The feeling of fear, for example, is an anticipation of injury, broadly defined. The viewer or reader consumes various artistic products and then interprets them by the means of criticism that rests upon the idea of taste.
Why do we read or write or draw or paint?, is it because we feel the need to communicate feelings repressed in our own psyche. When we create a character, in fiction or on a work of art, are we creating a character that seems real to us just to express our thoughts we would, in most cases, not speak of in conversation.
Perhaps it is the characters that create us. The characters are collections of emotions and feelings, memories and dreams suppressed in our unconsciousness. Why Do we make Art?
